A beautiful bathrobe begins with the fibre. Abyss uses Extra Long Staple Giza cotton: particularly long fibres that can be spun into fine, resilient yarns.

Long fibres leave fewer fibre ends in the yarn, supporting a soft feel and a strong fabric. Egyptian cotton is the raw material; Portugal is where it becomes your bathrobe.

Extra long fibres. Around 3.7 cm.
Abyss bathrobes are made from Extra Long Staple Egyptian Giza cotton. Each cotton fibre is around 3.7 cm long before spinning. This length supports fine, even and strong yarns.
Terry weave and plied yarn
Warp and weft form the supporting ground fabric; additional pile yarns form soft, absorbent loops. Abyss cards and combs the cotton, removes short fibres and strengthens the yarn by doubling and plying. Careful yarn preparation and dense terry weaving combine volume with strength.
Care in the making
The workshop combines textile technology with skilled finishing and careful details. Tiamont bathrobes are made to order; we discuss special requests personally.
Textiles tested for harmful substances
Abyss & Habidecor textiles are tested for harmful substances to OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100. The standard tests textiles for substances that may harm health.

Compare the product's length, sleeves and chest measurements with a garment that fits well. The same size letter may fit differently across models. Unisex Couture runs rather small.

Always follow your robe's care label, especially for satin trim. Wash similar colours together, use mild detergent and avoid fabric softener, which can reduce the cotton loops' absorbency.
Wash your bathrobe at 40 °C on a gentle cycle and dry at low temperature. Follow the label's maximum temperature. Do not pull loose loops; trim them carefully.

What does Extra Long Staple or ELS mean?
Extra Long Staple cotton has particularly long individual fibres. Giza ELS fibres are around 3.7 cm long before spinning, allowing fine, even and resilient yarns. ELS denotes fibre quality, not an independent harmful substance, organic or sustainability certificate.
What do 500, 550 and 700 g/m² mean for a bathrobe?
These values describe fabric weight per square metre, not the robe's total weight. Damen klassik has 500 g/m², Majestic Giza für Zwei 550 g/m² and Unisex Couture 700 g/m². Unisex Couture offers especially sumptuous terry. Cut, length and weave also affect feel; higher fabric weight is not automatically right for everyone.
Can I order luxury bathrobes as a coordinated pair?
Yes. Order two bathrobes separately in each person's size. Majestic Giza für Zwei pairs White Gold with Beige Gold; Prestige Puderrosé also pairs with gold Unisex Couture. Each offer includes one bathrobe, not an automatic two-piece set.
Can I add matching slippers?
Yes, matching Abyss & Habidecor terry slippers can be added on request. They are not currently a regular shop product or included in the robe price. We check the requested range, colour, size, price and delivery time personally.

Abyss & Habidecor makes the bathrobes in Portugal, in Mundão near Viseu. Egyptian Giza cotton describes the origin and quality of the raw material; the robes are manufactured in Portugal.
How long does bathrobe delivery take?
Made-to-order production usually takes 4–6 weeks. The current delivery information for your chosen version applies. Contact us early for gifts, coordinated pairs, special colours or additional slippers.
Which size should I choose?
Prestige Puderrosé and Majestic Giza für Zwei are offered in S–XL; Damen klassik and Unisex Couture in S–XXL. Compare length, sleeves and chest measurements on the product page. Unisex Couture runs rather small. We can help using your measurements.
How do I wash and dry an Egyptian cotton bathrobe?
The care label takes priority, especially for satin trim. Wash at 40 °C on a gentle cycle with mild detergent and similar colours. Dry at low temperature. Do not pack the drum tightly; wash items with zips or hook-and-loop fasteners separately. Follow the label's maximum temperature.
Why should I avoid fabric softener?
Fabric softener can coat the cotton loops and reduce terry's absorbency. Use mild detergent without softener and follow the care label to preserve an absorbent robe.
Are the bathrobes tested for harmful substances?
Abyss & Habidecor textiles are tested for harmful substances to OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100. This concerns substances that may harm health; it does not certify organic cotton cultivation.
Are special colours, sizes or monograms possible?
The manufacturer offers personalisation. Tiamont checks which special colours, sizes, embroidery or monograms are possible for your chosen model. We agree extra costs and production time before you order.
