Why a glass basin changes the room
Glass is non-porous, seamless and lives on light. That is why the same basin looks clear and light in the morning, deep and saturated at night.

Non-porous and hygienic
Glass absorbs nothing. Limescale and soap residue stay on the surface and wipe off with a soft cloth. No joints for anything to settle in.

Round glass basin or oval bowl?
The round shape feels calm and centred, ideal for narrow countertops and guest bathrooms. The oval takes up more space, anchors wide countertops and leaves more room when washing. Both without tap hole and without overflow.

Tip: choose a countertop height of 80–85 cm – with the 17 cm basin the rim then sits at a comfortable 97–102 cm.
Installation & care
Ready to use in four steps
A glass countertop basin is not screwed down but placed on the countertop. The plumbing is best left to a specialist.
Questions about installation?Prepare the countertop
Drill a waste hole of about 5 cm in the centre, keep the surface level and dry. The glass foot rests on Ø 6.4 cm.
Choose the waste set
The basin has no overflow, so use a waste valve without overflow opening, with a G 1¼ inch thread.
Place and seal
Place the basin centrally, tighten the seal evenly, finish the joint to the countertop cleanly. Do not tilt.
Everyday care
Soft cloth, pH-neutral cleaner, no abrasives. A quick wipe dry after washing keeps the shine free of limescale.

What is a glass basin?
A glass basin is a washbasin made of solid, toughened glass. As a countertop basin it stands freely on the vanity top instead of being set into it. The Doh basins by SICIS® are made of lead-free soda-lime glass and refined on the inside with the Rigato ribbed structure.
How easy is a glass basin to look after?
Very easy: the surface is non-porous, there are no joints and nothing absorbs. For daily cleaning a soft cloth, clear water and a pH-neutral cleaner are enough. Avoid abrasives, rough sponges and strongly acidic limescale removers. A quick wipe dry after use keeps the shine free of limescale.
Round or oval – which shape suits better?
The round bowl with Ø 40 cm needs little space and feels centred; it suits narrow tops and guest bathrooms. The oval at 50 × 40 cm fills wide vanity tops better and leaves more room to move. Both are 17 cm high and use the same waste set.
How is a glass countertop basin installed?
The basin is placed on the countertop and fixed via the waste set. You need a hole of about 5 cm and a waste valve with a G 1¼ inch thread without an overflow opening, as the basin has no overflow. There is no tap hole: the tap is fitted into the countertop or the wall. The connection should be made by a specialist.
At what height should the countertop be?
Add the basin height: with a countertop at 80–85 cm the 17 cm basin rim sits at 97–102 cm, comfortable for most people. Also check the tap spout height so the water hits the centre of the bowl.
